Arena of Gold is a solid game, but it won’t rank among the best ancient Roman slots in my books. All you get here is a complete rehash of 6 of Tokens, and Games Global hasn’t made any real effort to make it stand out. Instead, it even reduces the top reward.

The main talking point is the Link&Win™ feature, which is basically a Hold and Win round. It isn’t anything new, but it’s your only route to hitting fixed jackpots and cash prizes. There’s also a free spins round with colossal symbols.

On the upside, the visuals are clean and polished. Although it doesn’t fully capture what it feels like to be on the battlefield in the colosseum, the gladiators’ paying symbols give us a peek into the watered-down era.
